The Rundāle Palace is one of the most outstanding monuments of Baroque and Rococo architecture in Latvia. The Palace is situated in the middle of Zemgale plain amid virgin rural scenery, thereby having preserved the initial idea of the architect – the palace is in the centre as a symbol of mightiness of the ruler and the park, which alleys extent to infinity. A special value of the Palace refers to the integrated interior decoration of the premises, stucco work and picturesque plafonds, which have suffered in the course of time, but haven’t been touched by the reconstruction of modern times or big military devastations.

In 2007 the Rundāle Palace was entered into the list of European Cultural Heritage.
