Betting on Full-time result (1×2)
The simplest kind of bet you can make on a game of association football is on a full-time result, and betting on sides — win, draw, or lose. The Asian Handicap is the optimal way of doing this for a long-term profitable punter, but there are actually a few categories here that we’ll cover: 1×2 — A fixed-odds bet on the home side (1), the road side (2), or the draw (x). 1×2 bets are what the layman thinks of when he wants to bet on sports, so the major online bookmakers (SBOBet, BetFair, Pinnacle) usually charge higher vig for these kinds of bets. Therefore, we at betting-strategy.org recommend that you try one of the other ways to bet on the full-time result. (1×2 is also available for first-half-only bets.) Double chance — Basically the same as 1×2, except the bettor chooses two outcomes and wins if either take place. This can make good sense if you want to bet on a heavy underdog that might have a better chance of drawing, but bets on the favorite are going to have prohibitively low returns, and this kind of bet is still plagued by the high vig of a 1×2 bet. Asian Handicap — A spread-betting variant where goal handicaps are given down to quarter-goals. We highly recommend that you use this whenever possible, and have both an article explaining the basics of Asian Handicap, and another discussing the finer points of its strategy.
